Tameside Unison Retired Members Association

    Tameside Unison Retired Members Association

Unison works to raise awareness of issues which concern older people and to influence decision makers.

Our priorities include:

  • Pension Poverty
  • Health care  and age discrimination
  • Isolation and mobility issues

You might think that you no longer need the union, when you retire, after all you no longer need to worry about work place problems, but even if you do different things, the same needs remain,

  • Legal Advice
  • Welfare Support
  • Special Discounts and offers on a wide range of financial and other services.

Unison are committed to branches having retired members sections and many retired members sections organise events.

If you have been a UNISON members for a least 2 years on the day that you retire and have either reached state pension age or get a pension, you can become a retired member. It will only cost you £15 for lifetime membership
